the dan band

went to see the dan band at b.b. king's last night.  yet another christmas present from joe and it was AWESOME!  we got there an hour before the show and, for whatever reason, no one was standing/sitting at the front of the stage; they were all at tables, at the bar, or at the divider between the bar and the main floor.  so, mr. man plops us down front row center and we sit on our asses 'til the show starts.  and, when it does, dan finnerty is literally five feet in front of us.  hot hot hot.

for those who don't know, the dan band is an all-male band that performs female rock/pop anthems, e.g. "i am woman," "total eclipse of the heart," "shoop/what a man," and "you oughta know."  i first became aware of their act when i saw the special on bravo.  not surprisingly, any band with a cute irish boy in mechanic's work-shirt singing "i'm a slave 4 u" is enough for me to declare devotion for life.

most of the material we saw at last night's performance i'd already seen on the bravo tv special and listened to repeatedly on their self-titled cd.  however, new (for me, anyway) were his renditions of "don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me" and "my humps."

check out dan in old school and starsky & hutch!
