fall from grey's

okay.  not doing so well with the monday-wednesday-friday updates but i'm getting there.  i'll have to do a little more prep work ahead of time to keep up but, until then, i'm trying to deliver with short little posts.

something i wanted to write about for awhile:  i was so wrong about "grey's anatomy."  okay, maybe it used to be a good, even a great, show, a little over a year go, around the time of the code black episodes.  i even mourned the loss of denny duquette and was so ready for the beginning of the third season and to see meredith suffer through another six-months of angst-ridden hand-wringing over how to do the right thing for herself.

within two or three episodes of this season, all the dramatic tension and build-up from the end of last season was gone — squandered! — and somewhere between derek and meredith's third and fourth break-up & make-up sessions, this show started veering drastically off course.  the number of ups-and-downs george and callie alone have had in this one season annoys me to no end.  the writers seem to have locked onto one definition of drama — shuffling their characters through a series of romantic entanglments and mishaps — in order to keep the story moving apace while foregoing any meaningful or interesting character development.  despite the constant churn of who's flirting with/kissing/sleeping with whom, i'm now completely bored.  the quirky charm of these characters has simply evaporated.

so...yeah.  eric dane is definitely still a hottie, but that's about all "grey's" has going for it now.  this show sucks.  i take back what i said before — don't watch it.   as far as thursdays go, i'm happier watching "the office" and "30 rock."  (gotta love that tina fey.)
