soomie's wedding

i met soomie my freshman year of college.  although we'd never met prior to that, we had an instant bond because we both went to cty at franklin & marshall and therefore had a number of shared experiences and a large library of music in common. 

at the reception, the song selected for soomie's first dance with her husband was "rainbow connection," which was immediately followed by tears for fears' "everybody wants to rule the world."  when erasure played soon after, i walked over to soomie and asked if she would end with don mclean's "american pie."  she looked me in the eye and said, "you know, i actually toyed with that idea."  brilliant.
